The Philippines, officially known as The Republic of Philippines, is one of the most sought after destinations by medical students. Study MD in the Philippines

  • The Philippines follows a US-based education system. Hence, it offers MD ( Doctor of Medicine), which is considered the equivalent of MBBS ( Bachelor of Surgery or Bachelor of Medicine- UK pattern) in India.
  • Students from all across the globe come to the Philippines to pursue medical studies. Hence, the Philippines education system adopts the continuity of the +2 curriculum followed in India.
  • In the US, students pass their 10th grade, go for a Bachelor of Science degree and then opt for a 4.8-year MD program.
  • Since we follow the UK pattern in India, our students pass both their 10th and 12th grade at the school level. Hence, they can complete their Bachelor of Science and MD program in 4.8 years in the Philippines.
  • Thus, the total time period for a student to complete the MD program in DMSFI in the Philippines is 5.6 years.
  • After completing MD in the Philippines, the student should pass NExT / FMGE to start practising in India.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Age
The student should complete 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
Passing Percentile
50% aggregate marks in the Higher Secondary Board (+2) examinations in (PCB) Physics, Chemistry and Biology are mandatory.
NEET Qualification
A 50 percentile score from the standard NEET score of that particular year is required.

The Philippine National Police and Task Force military guards routinely check the visitors at each entry and exit point. There are separate entry and exit queues for men and women. Hence, it is absolutely safe and affordable.

What are the different means of local transport facilities available?

The local transportation facilities are van, tuk-tuk, and jeepneys, all at fixed rates and meters. Students usually rely on jeepneys to go to and fro from the college to the hostel. The trips are available at subsidized rates of 6 ₱ per head (₹ 10) with an ACR I card.
